Analogie et catégorisation
Tant dans l'analogie que dans la catégorisation, des connaissances antérieures sont utilisées pour appréhender une situation nouvelle, particulièrement comme support d'inférences. Une théorie de l'analogie, vue fondamentalement comme un mécanisme de catégorisation, est présentée, distinguant les analogies modélisables comme des catégorisations directes de celles dépendant d'un parcours sémantique dans un réseau de catégories.
Both in analogy and categorization, previous knowledge is used to deal with a new situation, especially through supporting inferences. A theory of analogy-making, considered fundamentally as a categorization mechanism, is introduced, distinguishing analogies that might be modelized as straightforward cases of categorization from analogies relying on a semantic course within a network of categories.
